Welcome to INVENSYS Refinery Off-sites Solutions

Since the mid 80’s a dedicated staff of 35 based IOM Advanced Applications engineers, based in Baarn, the Netherlands has been developing solutions for efficient refinery operation including:

It resulted in multiple world-class DCS independent refinery offsites solutions, serving more then 100 refinery and terminal sites, including all major oil companies around the world. In 2008 all solutions merged into one software package, known as the Off-sites Suite

In the area of refinery product and feedstock inventory management, transparency is provided for accurate mass and quality tracking on the entire inventory.
All inventory related data is made available to all refinery or terminal staff through the Tank Inventory System (TIS). Emission monitoring data is provided by the Emission Monitoring System (EMS).
Any product or feedstock movement in the refinery tank-farm, including customer delivery is monitored, tracked and archived by the Order Movement Manager (OMM) solution.
OMM provides accountability for every barrel of product and crude in the tank farm in a paperless environment.
Supporting functions are provided through a Pipeline batch tracking module (BTM) and a path selection and Movement Automation System (MAS) for automated batch and movement control.

For oil terminals a new Material Balance solution (MAB) has been developed. This solution is based on the data provided by TIS and OMM and allows to provide quick and thorough analysis of oil losses on a per equipment and per product basis, based on historical data over a user selectable period.

Recently some modules have been equipped with WEB interfaces. It is scheduled that in 2010 the WEB enabling of the Inventory Management solution will be completed.

In recent years our Inventory Management solution has been successfully applied at different oil and chemical product terminals. For this reason topics like ownership (co-mingling), tax handling, foreign trade zone handling have been included in the products.

In the product blending area, Invensys takes responsibility to provide a full operational solution. Through the use of unique optimization algorithms embedded in the Invensys Blend Optimization and Supervisory Software (BOSS), products are produced according quality specification (including DIR.98/70 Euro III, IV, V, or RFG, etc) against minimum costs.
Within the solution, quality analysis plays an important role and Invensys itself provides an analyzer solution (MRA). We also integrate and offer third party analyzer solutions such as NIR. In addition analyzer management and validation software (AMADAS) is provided together with operational quality procedures such as the EPA 40CFR80 requirements.
Through our complete offering, Invensys ensures the refineries maximum product values, with given components, integrated within the existing refinery planning and scheduling environment. This is documented in an article of Hydrocarbon Engineering written together with BP.
