26th July 2007, Invensys oil terminal automation system was successfully put online at Sinopec's TsingYi oil terminal; in the meantime the old YOKOGAWA system had been replaced completely. TsingYi is the largest oil depot in Hong Kong, it was put into operation in February 1998 with a capacity of 369,000 cubic meter and more than 10 million metric tons annual throughput. There are 30 + oil/chemical/LPG products being stored and delivered, it has 11 jetties, 19 lorry bays, 28 spot filling bays and 41 tanks. On average more than 350 movements are active per day. ![]() Sinopec selected Invensys in June 2006 for this job. We have deployed OMM, TIS and MAS to meet the functional requirements. Besides keeping all functions which existed in the old system, the new system makes more information available for management, improves the efficiency of the operation process, and enhances the customer’s market position remarkably. ![]() In this project, Invensys offsite technology is successfully applied to lorry loading, marine loading/unloading, tank transfers, blending and spot filling. Compared with the old system, the advanced features (such as: automatic routing selection, equipment online checking, online expert instruction and real-time oil terminal information monitoring, flexible updating, open interface…) results in easier and safer operation and more cost effective maintenance. ![]() For more information about the TsingYi oil terminal project please contact us.
